Sagmeister

Today I've been looking through some of my old designer books. Stefan Sagmeister is one of my favourite designers of all time.

I have two of his books, and they say never judge a book by its cover, but as soon as you see these books you judge straight away. You will either love or hate them! I definitely love them!

Just by looking at the cover and then removing the plastic cover, I instantly love it. I feel that this is such a unique way to do things, and you can definitely judge this book by its cover because its nothing but artistic genius.

The second book I have of Sagmeister's is his Thing I Have Learnt In My Life So Far.

This book cover is the first book cover to make me think 'what the hell' surely this can only be a good thing, right?

Once again he has designed his book cover in such a way that no one else can really pull off, (in my eyes anyway) people tend to worry way too much and I think that he does what ever he feels is him.

I will continue to use these books for as long as I can and I would recommend them to anymore, and I'd recommend Stefan Sagmeister for anyone, to look up to and admire.

Business Cards

I thought I would share our business cards with you today, I designed these quite a while ago, but never really shared them on any social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.

I will begin to post our latest offers and deals in my blog as well, but they will also be on my social network sites, linked above.

I do business card design and printing, business cards can be double sided, like mine, or they can be single sided.

I feel that it is always important to carry a few business cards on you because you never know who you might run in to. The day you don't have any on you, is the day that you run into a very important potential client/customer.

I welcome feedback and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have, just email me at emilyjanedesigns@hotmail.co.uk and i'll get back to you asap.

Typography.

Typography is the theme of the day. Researching into different type faces, and searching for unique and different styles to use.

Found some great new typefaces to use and can't wait to get started with my next project and try them out.

Business Card Design.

Today has been a fairly straight forward day, I was given the task of designing business cards for a tanning salon. They gave me strict instructions on exactly how they wanted their design. This didn't much creativity on my part, but I am very happy with the results.

A simple but effective design, and the customer was happy with the result, which is all that matters. :)

I love doing the small jobs as much as I love the big creative jobs. I love design and everything that comes with it, can't wait to get started on my next project.

Graphic Design.

So today i've decided to add some of my designs to a site called Etsy, where anyone from the creative industry can design and make a product or material and sell them to everyone else on the site. It's a bit like Ebay but for arty people.

So far I have added 4 different designs to this site, that you can then pay a small amount and the design will be sent to you so that you can print them off and use them for yourself.

This is some of the latest tag designs that I have added to my online shop on Etsy.

I am very impressed with my experience with this site so far, it has given me a whole new insight into the design world and the different styles that people work in.

First timer.

My good friend Louise from LDEARTS Craft Creations, has recommended blogger to me, so i've decided to finally give it ago. Only taken me a few months to write my first post, but at least I'm doing it now.

Most of my posts will be about the latest thing I am up too, within the design world. I will probably talk about anything that I have come across in my travels as well, anything that interests me, anything that annoys me and anything that I feel deserves a mention.

I came across this image as I was searching for a fun day out with my nieces and nephews. This image says a lot about my life, and the way that I work, simple but affective.

It really gets your mind working, within the design industry and within your own personal life.
